Welcome to the Gifted and Talented Program. We are so excited about having your child in our program. Please read the following information and feel free to call us if you have any questions or concerns. We are looking forward to an “enriching and exciting” year!

Major Goals of the GT Program:

**To encourage the development of a positive self-concept and confidence in the student’s unique abilities.

**To develop higher level thinking skills that will allow the student to produce advanced products.

**To encourage creative thinking and the desire to discover alternative solutions to problems.

**To develop skills for working with peers, teachers, and other adults.

**To encourage and develop the skills, desires, and confidence to seek knowledge independently.

Weekly Schedule:

Monday (8:15 - 10:45) – 2nd Grade

Tuesday (8:15 – 2:45) – 3rd Grade

Wednesday (8:15 – 2:15) – 5th Grade

Thursday (8:15 – 2:15) – 4th Grade

Friday (8:15 – 10:45) – 1st Grade

Location:

Our GT program is located on the Wylie Elementary campus in room 413. Northside students will be picked up by the school bus on assigned GT days and return the same way!

Our weekly planning and conference times are Monday and Friday from 1:00 – 3:30. If you need to conference with us, please plan to schedule on these two afternoons.
